Economic Recovery Funds for Water Systems

Washington State has distributed about $38.5 million in economic recovery funds for drinking water construction projects throughout Washington State.

Additional information about the capitalization grant is provided in the Intended Use Plan (PDF, 36 kb) and EPA's approval letter.

We reviewed 347 project applications totaling more than $415 million, about 10 times the amount of money available.

We gave weight to projects that could start quickly. We also looked for projects that addressed high-priority public health issues and projects in disadvantaged communities where economic hits have been the hardest and jobs are sorely needed.
