The Communicable Disease dashboard uses data from the Annual Communicable Disease Report and information reported to the Department of Health (DOH) by:
- Health care providers
- Laboratories
- Local health jurisdictions
Why Communicable Disease Data is Important
Communicable diseases spread between people or animals. Communicable disease data helps us detect outbreaks and understand how diseases spread over time. With this information, we prevent illness, protect people at higher risk, and see what prevention efforts are working. Without accurate data, public health agencies may not be able to respond quickly or use resources where they are needed most.
