The Department of Health gathers information about each divorce that occurs in Washington State. The filing of divorce certificates at the state level began in 1968. The department does not have information about divorces that occurred outside of Washington State.
These are record level data files. Working with these files requires spreadsheet, database management, or statistical software that are not provided. Divorce data files are available from 1968 to 2017 and contain spouse information (date of birth, city and county of residence, number of children), type of ceremony, date of ceremony, county of decree, marriage date, and county, etc. Files do not contain names.

Data Tables
Divorce data tables have been discontinued since 2016 and will be replaced by interactive dashboards. All tables will be retired on or about July 1, 2022.
