About the Webinar

The Washington Department of Health (DOH) hosted a webinar on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Department of Health staff discussed school and child care immunization requirements for the upcoming school year. This webinar is intended for healthcare providers, health educators, and anyone who may interested in learning detailed information on immunization requirements. Continuing education is available for physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists/pharmacy techs.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify updated school and child care immunization requirements, including changes to DTP, Tdap, polio, and requirements for 4 year old students
  • Describe how to complete the Certificate of Immunization Status and forms that healthcare providers can give to families
  • Discuss school and child care exemption requirements in Washington State and how healthcare providers should complete the Certificate of Exemption
  • Identify clinic-based and external resources for vaccinating patients

Target Audience

Healthcare providers, pharmacists/pharmacy technicians, health educators, and anyone interested in learning more details about school and child care immunization requirements. The webinar on March 30 was geared towards school and child care staff while this webinar is geared towards healthcare providers.
