Does the Nursing Commission have a copy of your advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) national certification? All active ARNP licenses in Washington State require proof of a current National Certification.

Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) alerted healthcare professionals to the potential risks of compounded ketamine nasal spray.

The compounded ketamine is being used to treat psychiatric disorders. Unlike the Schedule III nasal spray treatment, Spravato (esketamine), compounded ketamine nasal spray is not FDA-approved and has no FDA-approved dosing regimen.

When the governor-declared emergency ends, you must have a Washington state license. If you don't, you won't be able to practice in Washington. 

We encourage you to apply for your Washington state license as soon as possible.

Recently, there has been some confusion over the frequency of required supervision in the delegation of nursing tasks in community-based care settings.

Specifically, the requirements of:

  • Supervision to occur at least every 90 days was changed to 120 days.
  • Weekly supervision for the first four weeks of delegated insulin injections was relaxed.
