Community Health Workers TB Certification

In accordance with WAC 246-170-035, non-medically licensed staff may be certified to perform TB testing and directly observed therapy (DOT) if they are working as part of a TB control program, established by a local health officer, and if they complete a training curriculum.

The Department offers a short, self-paced curriculum for those wanting certification in TB testing, DOT, or both. The local health officer must sign a letter, indicating staff person eligibility, prior to starting the certification process.

Please contact the TB Program for information on how to get certified.
