Healthy teeth are necessary for a healthy body. With good habits at home, brushing, flossing, fluoride, and regular dental care, older adults are able to keep their teeth a lifetime.
- Be proactive in keeping your mouth healthy by watching for signs of dry mouth. Many medications cause
dry mouth. Dry mouth can cause cavities and other infections in your mouth.
- Be sure see a dentist or dental hygienist at least twice and year and let them know if you get dry mouth.
- Everyone, even older adults with dentures, needs an annual oral cancer screening. Please visit the links below for helpful tips on keeping your mouth healthy.
