Preparing for the 2024-2025 Respiratory Virus Season

Description: Infectious disease expert Eric J. Chow, MD, MS, MPH will discuss the epidemiology of influenza, RSV and COVID-19 and summarize measures of community burden. He will review important mitigation strategies, vaccine recommendations and respiratory illness guidance as we head into the 2024-2025 respiratory viral season.
The webinar will be recordedand will offer live ASL interpretation. Continuing education is available for allopathic physicians (MD), osteopathic physicians (DOs), physician assistants, naturopathic physicians (NDs), nurses (RN, LPN, ARNP), medical assistants, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
The learning objectives for this webinar are to:
- Assess the current epidemiology of influenza, RSV and COVID-19.
- Review measures of respiratory viral community burden to guide mitigation strategies.
- Describe updated vaccine recommendations and respiratory illness guidance.

Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy in Rural Communities: Parts One and Two
Date and Time: October 30 and November 13, 2024, 12:00-1:00 PM in Pacific Time (US and Canada).
Join Drs. Anya Sheftel Ph.D. and Erica Austin Ph.D., of the Washington State University, for a two-part workshop on motivational interviewing (MI) for rural healthcare providers. They will also introduce the "Getting to the Heart and Mind of the Matter Toolkit", which helps patients choose trustworthy sources of information and respond to brain-friendly promotional messages.
The focus of the workshops will be using MI in time-limited patient interactions about vaccinations. The workshops will aim to meet the needs of novice and experienced MI practitioners.
These webinars will be recorded and will offer live ASL interpretation. Continuing education is available for nurses (RN, LPN, ARNP) medical assistants, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. We are pursuing continuing education credits for allopathic physicians (MD), osteopathic physicians (DOs), physician assistants and naturopathic physicians.
