RadNet

The Environmental Sciences Section operates an air particulate and precipitation monitoring station as part of the Environmental Protection Agency's RadNet system. This system involves monitoring stations across the country, collecting a variety of media.

Samples are collected and sent to the U.S. EPA National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory in Alabama for analysis. These laboratory analyses, combined with our own samples and analysis, are very useful during events like Fukushima and Chernobyl.
