Every orthotist and prosthetist must successfully complete the jurisprudence examination within 180 days after initial licensure and every three years as a continuing competency requirement as required in WAC 246-850-060 and WAC 246-850-140.

The jurisprudence examination contains questions related to Washington state orthotic and prosthetic laws, rules, interpretive statements, and guidelines. Once you begin the examination, there are web links to the law, rule, statement, or guideline that is associated with that specific question. You must receive 100 percent on the examination. Orthotic and prosthetic laws, rules, interpretive statements, and guidelines are available to review on our website before taking the examination.
