The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.
Current Rules in Progress
The Department of Health filed a CR-101 on August 7, 2026, under WSR 26-17-020 (PDF), for the purpose of updating Medical Test Site (MTS) licensing fees.
The department plans to schedule a series of rule workshops in early fall 2026, during which interested parties can collaborate with department representatives to discuss updates to MTS licensing fees.
Newly Adopted Rules
The Department of Health filed a CR-103 to adopt new rules (PDF) in chapter 246-338 WAC, sections 022, 040, 050, 060, 070, 080 and 090. The amendments go into effect on December 28, 2024.
