Rulemaking Activities - Hospital Financial Reporting
Current Rules in Progress
On July 9, 2024, the Department of Health's (department) Office of Community Health Systems, Charity Care and Hospital Financial Reporting Program officially filed a CR-101 (pre-proposal statement of inquiry) with the Office of the Code Reviser to open chapter 246-454 WAC , WAC 246-451-010 and 246-451-050 for possible modifications, WSR 24-15-024 . As part of this process, the department has also withdrawn an outdated CR-101, filed in November 2021 as WSR 21-23-082 .
In response to Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill (E2SHB) 1272 (chapter 162, Laws of 2021) , this rulemaking will consider amendments to existing rules regarding the uniform system for hospitals for accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost allocation in chapter 246-454 WAC . Also under consideration are updates to ensure the rules are current and align with best practices.
