The governor signed into law on April 14, 2021 House Bill 1378, which allows a medical assistant who is assisting with a telemedicine visit to be supervised by a health care practitioner through interactive audio and video telemedicine technology. This new law allows telemedicine supervision only in situations where a provider is engaging in a telemedicine visit with a patient. During the provider/patient telemedicine visit, the provider may also supervise the medical assistant who is assisting with the visit via audio and video telemedicine technology. The law does not allow for telemedicine supervision outside of the provider/patient telemedicine visit. - Take the Washington Health Workforce Survey.
