WA HEALTH Data Products

We develop and maintain several data products designed to support situational awareness and informed decision-making regarding health care capacity. Most of our analytical resources are available exclusively to our health care partners, local health jurisdictions, and emergency preparedness partners. These include:

  • WA HEALTH Portal Dashboard: Our primary, centralized interface for accessing core metrics and downloading hospital-level data from the last 90 days.
  • Situational Awareness Report (Sitrep) Dashboard: A dashboard updated weekly providing a high-level overview of hospital respiratory data and hospital bed capacity trends, and key health care capacity data insights. This product is available in WA Portal.
  • WA HEALTH Hospital Bed Capacity Reports: Periodic reports to provide insights into daily patient census tracking and bed capacity to inform health care planning and readiness. View our last multi-year report (PDF).
  • Northwest Healthcare Response Network Dashboard: A dedicated space providing our health care coalitions with easy access to our data collections.

To request access to the WA HEALTH Portal Dashboard or Sitrep Dashboard please email wahealth@doh.wa.gov with "Request Access" in the subject line and include your organization details along with the specific data products you need.

In addition to these resources, we provide secondary care respiratory surveillance information to the Washington State Department of Health Respiratory Illness Data Dashboard. Our data provides information regarding the impact of severe respiratory illness (COVID-19, flu, and RSV) on health care capacity. This cross-agency effort integrates data from multiple surveillance teams to provide a comprehensive view of the seasonal burden of respiratory illness on our systems.

We also maintain an internal Compliance and Quality Assurance (QA) Dashboard to monitor daily data reporting and maintain high data integrity standards. This tool enables more efficient communication with our reporting facilities regarding QA concerns.

Finally, our team leverages geospatial analysis to provide deeper insights. We are currently evaluating a Geospatial Hospital Bed Capacity Map, which visualizes local and regional hospital bed availability.
