Recruitment and Retention Program

The Health Workforce and Primary Care Systems Development Team provides recruitment services for healthcare facilities located in rural and underserved areas statewide. Our goal is to ensure that the rural healthcare system in Washington state has the professionals needed to help build healthy communities.

We support recruitment efforts for the following practice sites:

  • Rural areas, including Rural Health Clinics and Community Health Centers
  • Tribal settings (Indian Health Service or self-governed)
  • Urban sites serving medically underserved patients
  • State correctional and mental health facilities

Our recruitment efforts primarily focus on:

  • Primary care physicians (family medicine, general internal medicine, general surgery, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatry)
  • Dentists
  • Physician assistants (PA-C)
  • Advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNP)
  • Behavioral health providers
  • Registered nurses

As a member of the non-profit National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network (3RNET), we connect health professionals to employment opportunities in rural and underserved communities across Washington and nationwide.

Health professionals seeking direct recruitment assistance are encouraged to register online through 3RNET. Contact information and resumes remain private and are shared only with hiring organizations with the applicant’s permission.

Employers seeking assistance with provider recruitment, posting vacancies, or accessing workforce-related resources for rural and underserved communities can utilize the 3RNET recruitment platform as part of our comprehensive recruitment services.
