Rules in Progress

The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.

Current rules in progress

Significant legislative rule-making process

  1. CR-101 – Statement of Inquiry: Rules are under development/examination with stakeholder workshops.
  2. CR-102 – Notice of Proposed Rule Making: Approved rule language is released, opening the official public comment period and scheduling a rules hearing.
  3. CR-103 – Rule-Making Order: Notice of adopted rules or emergency rule adoption is issued.
  4. CR-105 – Expedited Rule Making: Due to the limited scope, there is no public hearing. However, individuals may object to the expedited process within 45 days after the notice is filed
