The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.

Physical Therapy Licensure Compact – Reference Date Updated

The Board of Physical Therapy has filed a CR105 proposing to update the effective date in WAC 246-915A-010 to match the date of the most recent Physical Therapy licensure Compact Commission (PTLC) Rules per RCW 18.74.500 Article IX(2), which mandates that the state of Washington, Board of Physical Therapy to adopt PTLC rules to participate in the compact. The compact commission rules are not effective in Washington unless the board approves and adopts the proposed amendments.

Physical Therapy Licensure Compact Fee Increase

The Department of Health (department), in consultation with the Board of Physical Therapy (board) is considering amendments to increase the compact fees. The fees established must be an amount sufficient to cover the state’s monetary obligations as a member state to the physical therapy licensure compact.

Physical Therapy TOEFL Scoring Requirements

The Board of Physical Therapy (board) filed WSR 26-07-052 on March 17, 2026, initiating a CR101 to consider amendments to WAC 246-915-120, foreign educated applicants, to consider updating the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scoring requirements in response to changes made by the Educational Testing Services (ETS).
