Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) is a survey that asks people in Washington who recently gave birth about their experiences before, during, and after pregnancy.
Each month, about 200 people who recently gave birth are randomly selected from birth records to participate in the PRAMS survey.
Our goal is to improve the health of all recent parents and their babies in Washington.
Your stories matter
Sharing your birth experiences helps parents and babies thrive
"I really enjoyed taking this survey, it’s easier to answer these questions anonymously. I was asked about how I’m feeling after my pregnancy but felt like I couldn’t answer them truthfully until now.”
"I really appreciate this kind of research for all mothers and babies.”
“This project is a wonderful idea. I hope my input can help other mothers and their children.”

How Your Answers Are Used
Your responses help us understand and support the different experiences of people who give birth in Washington. We use what we learn to improve health programs, shape policy, and help doctors and nurses provide better care.
Only a small number of people are selected each year. We can’t replace your response with someone else’s. Your responses help us gain a better understanding of health during and after pregnancy in Washington. We thank all survey participants with a gift card.
