No Changes to Washington State Childhood Immunization Schedule

Washington State’s childhood immunization schedule, insurance coverage, and school requirements remain unchanged, reflecting consistent, science-based guidance.

CVP providers should continue following the 2026 American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule, endorsed by DOH and the West Coast Health Alliance. This remains the appropriate standard of care for all children, including those receiving vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.

In addition, recent federal changes to the CDC Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule have been paused following a federal court ruling in favor of the AAP. As a result, the updated changes are not in effect, and the previous federal immunization schedule and recommendations remain in place.

All recommended vaccines remain available at no cost for children under age 19 through the Childhood Vaccine Program (CVP).

Families should not experience any changes in vaccine access or coverage due to recent federal policy developments. This pause does not impact the implementation of HB 2242 in Washington State, including DOH’s authority to issue vaccine recommendations.
