Dental Therapy Committee

The mandate of Dental Quality Assurance Commission (Dental Commission) and the Department of Health is to protect the public's health and safety and to promote the welfare of the state by regulating the competency and quality of professional health care providers under its jurisdiction. The commission and department will accomplish this mandate through a variety of activities working with interested parties.

Rules are currently in progress. The rules writing process is open to the public for comments. Rules are known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices, workshops, and a public hearing before a rule becomes effective.

To sign up to receive dental therapy updates, go to "www.doh.wa.gov" scroll to the bottom of the page and select the button labeled “Sign up for Updates from DOH.” Once you register, select (+) “Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA)”, (+) “Health Professions”, then select the profession(s) you for which you would like to subscribe.
