Amending a Vital Record

An amendment is an official change to a vital record. When you request to amend a certificate, you ask the state to update its official vital record. Any certificates you order after the amendment will show the updated information.

We update vital records for births, deaths, marriages, divorces, and stillbirths, also known as fetal deaths, that took place in Washington State.
