If you hold an active BOC certification after January 1, 2004, you may qualify for an athletic trainer license in Washington state.
If your BOC certification was earned after January 1, 2004 and you have evidence of your active certification sent from the BOC to the department, you will not need to submit your BOC exam scores or your transcript to the department.
To apply as a nationally certified athletic trainer:
- Submit the regular application (PDF) and be sure to indicate if you are BOC certified;
- Pay the application fee;
- Have evidence of any other health profession license held sent directly from the jurisdiction to the department; and
- Have evidence of your active BOC certification sent directly from the BOC to the department.
