Rules in Progress - Certified Counselors

The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.

Rules workshop for reviewing draft rule language for Chapter 246-810 WAC

The Department of Health hosted several workshops to review updates made to the proposed draft rules language for chapter 246-810 WAC. The revised draft language incorporates stakeholder feedback received from previous workshops and simplifies the proposed coursework requirements for certified and licensed agency affiliated counselors.

The Department of Health will host one more workshop to review draft rule language for chapter 246-810 WAC. The newest revisions have changes to the coursework requirements for certified counselors and certified advisers, which will be the primary focus of the July workshop.
