WUE Goal Setting Public Forum Information

You must engage your customers and interested members of the public in a public forum (meeting) when establishing and re-establishing your WUE goals.

You can post your public forum information by completing and submitting the Water Use Efficiency Goal Setting Public Forum form. You must provide two weeks' notice prior to your public forum. Please allow us two to three business days to post your information to our website.

Purpose of Forum: The City of Moses Lake will hold a public forum on November 13th, 2025 to solicit comments on the City’s proposed Water Use Efficiency (WUE) goals for the next 10 years. The public forum starts promptly at 4:00 PM and will last 60 minutes. The public forum will be held at the Civic Center Council Chambers at 401 S. Balsam St, Moses Lake, WA. The WUE goals are designed to enhance efficient water use in the City and help conserve the City’s aquifer water supply. Additional information regarding the City’s draft WUE Program and draft WUE goals can be found within Chapter 4 of the City’s draft Water System Plan, available at this link: https://tinyurl.com/2025COMLWUE. The purpose of the hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to comment on or offer input on the City’s proposed WUE goals. Comments regarding the draft WUE goals may be provided in-person at the public forum, or written comments may be provided no later than 4:00 PM on November 13th, 2025 to 509-764-3776, or nmickelson@cityofml.com. All comments received by the deadline and/or at the public forum will be reviewed and considered by the City. It is anticipated that the WUE goals will be adopted by the City Council at a subsequent regularly scheduled council meeting, pending the public comments. .

Purpose of Forum: Provide information about our current Water Use Efficiency plan, and create space for members to learn more about water conservation, share ideas and collaboratively create a community plan to move forward with conserving as much water as possible. Topics will include our newly installed meters which will more accurately track water usage, leak prevention, and more.
