Funding Opportunity

Expand Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Access in Eastern Washington

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is offering a funding opportunity to support organizations working in Eastern Washington to increase access to breast and cervical cancer screening.

A total of $360,000 is available across 1 to 2 awards.

Grantees will act as prime contractors and lead efforts to:

  • Partner with clinics and community groups
  • Help reach people who are ages 40–65, low-income, uninsured, or underinsured
  • Expand access and rates of breast and cervical cancer screening
  • Coordinate outreach, clinical services, and health-related social needs
  • Support data reporting, care navigation, and local adaptation of NBCCED

Collaborative or regional models are encouraged, especially those tailored to the communities of Eastern Washington.

What is the Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program?

This program provides free breast and cervical cancer screening to eligible people in Washington State. Eligibility for the BCCHP is primarily based on health insurance status, income, and age. Find out if you may be eligible.

Early Detection is the Best Protection!

  • Breast, cervical, and colon cancer often have no warning signs.
  • Regular screenings can find cancer early when treatment is easier.
  • Screening tests and follow-up can prevent colon and cervical cancer from developing.

Who Runs the Program?

The Washington State Department of Health administers the program through grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state funding.

The department contracts with six regional organizations throughout the state, known as Prime Contractors, who operate the programs within their local regions. Find a Prime Contractor in your area.
