About the Collaborative

The WSPC is a volunteer group of public and private organizations, state agencies, health care providers, and community members committed to improving the health of Washington’s pregnant and postpartum people, their infants, and their families.

We work with a variety of partners to implement initiatives that improve perinatal health outcomes. Our work is based on recommendations from the Maternal Mortality Review Panel, best practice guidelines and research, and the needs of Washington families.

Rural Access to Maternity Care in Washington

Rural birthing people deserve access to high-quality care from preconception through postpartum and beyond. But rural communities face a growing crisis with less access to safe rural deliveries. The WSPC is working to working to address this crisis by supporting the rural workforce, maintaining rural labor and delivery services, and addressing gaps in care.
