Ordering

You can order COVID-19 vaccines through the Washington State Immunization Information System (WAIIS). Before ordering, please check the Vaccine Advertisement page in the WAIIS to see if other providers in your area have vaccine available. If you don't find vaccine in your area, then you can submit a vaccine order through WAIIS. Ordering is open seven days a week, and DOH will approve orders within 24 hours Monday through Friday.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have a place in my pharmacy to store vaccine. What can I do?

Pharmacies can store and access COVID-19 vaccines in locations outside of your pharmacy. See Gov. Inslee's Proclamation 20-36 for more information.

What is the process for transferring vaccine?

If you need to transfer vaccine, you should follow the steps outlined in the COVID-19 vaccine transfer process and redistribution checklist. Contact us at covid.vaccine@doh.wa.gov if you need help.

What is the minimum order size?
  • Pfizer-BioNTech, adult and adolescent formula (purple cap): 300 doses
  • Pfizer-BioNTech, pediatric formula (orange cap): 100 doses
  • Moderna: 140 doses
  • Johnson & Johnson: 100 doses

What supplies come with the vaccine?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will provide kits with ancillary supplies. Each kit will contain supplies to match the amount of vaccine, including:

  • 22-25 gauge safety needles
  • Syringes
  • Alcohol prep pads
  • Surgical masks
  • Face shields
  • COVID-19 vaccination record cards for vaccine recipients

For COVID-19 vaccines that require mixing with diluent at the point of administration, the ancillary supply kits will include additional necessary syringes, needles, and other supplies for this purpose.

Ancillary kits will not include gloves, sharps containers, or bandages.

How do I find the vaccine expiration dates?

You can check vaccine lot numbers through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's COVID-19 vaccine lot number and expiration date file. The report is available only for public health, healthcare, and pharmacy organizations for vaccine administration, inventory, and reporting purposes. CDC will not grant access for personal use or to confirm validity of vaccination.

You can also check through each vaccine manufacturer:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech: The vaccine expiration date is located on the vaccine vial.
  • Moderna: You can scan the QR code on the vial or carton, or check the lot number on the manufacturer's website.
  • Johnson & Johnson: You can scan the QR code on the carton, or check the lot number on the manufacturer's website.

You should always check the expiration date before preparing or administering vaccine. Do not use expired vaccine or diluent. Follow the Vaccine Wastage guidance for identifying, disposing of, and reporting vaccine waste.

Expiration dates may change as we get additional stability data.
