This page explains how individuals who work for a school or child care can get a School and Child Care Immunization Module (SCCIM) account. Each new user must complete a short training, pass a brief posttest, and receive login credentials. This process ensures all SCCIM users can navigate the system properly and protect student immunization data. Users should not share accounts.
SCCIM access is only granted to organizations that submit a completed Information Sharing Agreement (ISA) and are approved by the Department of Health. Do not start the account creation process until you have been notified that your ISA has been approved. For more information see How to Sign Up.
To reduce confusion, we’ve limited this page to information about accounts.
Complete Required Training
Each user must:
- Review the appropriate training guide below.
- Watch the short video clips included in the guide.
- Pass the SCCIM Post-Test with a score of 100 percent.
After passing the post-test, you will receive an automated email with instructions to set up your SCCIM account. If you do not receive this email, contact the SCCIM Team through the SCCI Wizard.
Understand Account Types
There are 2 SCCIM account types.
- A school nurse account has access to one school or child care.
- A school district account has access to all of the schools in a district.
There are 2 levels of access for each SCCIM account type.
- Full Access is granted to licensed healthcare providers like school nurses. This access allows users to:
- View and enter vaccinations.
- Add exemptions.
- Add immunity.
- Add new students.
- Update the roster.
- Print the CIS, reports, and letters.
- Limited Access is granted to non-licensed staff such as secretaries, registrars and administrative staff. This access allows users to:
- Add exemptions.
- Add immunity.
- Add new students.
- Update the roster.
- Print the CIS, reports, and letters.
Limited access does not allow the user to view or add vaccinations in the vaccination section.
Users with limited access can be granted full access under delegation by a registered nurse (RN). For more information about delegation, go to the Understand Delegation webpage.
If You Need to Delegate Access
If an RN plans to delegate immunization entry to unlicensed staff, they must follow specific guidelines. For instructions and required forms, visit the Understand Delegation webpage.
