This page is for school and child care staff who need to generate or schedule reports within the School and Child Care Immunization Module (SCCIM) to track student immunization status, compliance, and communications.
This page provides guidance on how to run, schedule, and use SCCIM reports for operational and compliance purposes. It includes information on viewing summary and individual student reports, generating notices for families, and improving workflow by using automated scheduling features.
Using the right reports helps staff monitor student compliance with immunization requirements, follow up on missing data, and fulfill annual reporting requirements. Running and reviewing reports regularly is essential to meeting state immunization guidelines and preventing delays in student follow-up. Scheduled reports also reduce errors and improve efficiency by avoiding system slowdowns.
Step 1: Choose the Report Type
Go to the “Reports” section in SCCIM and choose one of the following report types based on your task:
- At Risk Report: Identifies students vulnerable to specific vaccine-preventable diseases. Refer to (p. 19, Training Guide: SCCIM for Schools (PDF)
- Action Report: Lists students with overdue or missing vaccines and can be used to generate follow-up letters (p. 20).
- Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) Reports: Create CIS reports for individuals or schedule batches (p. 22–23).
- Student Compliance Report: Provides a full status overview, including exemptions and immunity details. Refer to Guide on Running and Interpreting the Student Compliance Report in SCCIM (PDF).
- School Compliance Report: Shows total enrollment and immunization status breakdown for a school or district. Refer to Guide on Running and Interpreting the School Compliance Report in SCCIM (PDF).
- Patient Detail Report: Provides a .csv export of all vaccinations for all of the students on the roster which can be filtered and sorted Guide to Exporting and Filtering Student Vaccination Records with the Patient Detail Report (PDF)
Step 2: Select Parameters and Run the Report
It is very important to run the reports against the correct compliance series for the reports to be accurate.
Select the grades in the report to correspond to the compliance series.
School and preschool: Evaluates compliance based on the requirements on the School Requirements Chart:
• PRESCH 19 MO-3YR ON 09/01 (< 4 years old on 09/01 of the school year)
• PRESCH-TK 4-5YR ON 09/01 (4 or 5 years old on 09/01 of the school year)
• Grade K-6 (in grade kindergarten through 6th grade)
• Grade 7-12 (in grade 7 through 12)
Child Care: Evaluated compliance based on the requirements on the Child Care Requirements Chart :
• CHILD CARE 0-6YR NOT IN SCHOOL (child is 19 months through 6 years not attending school)
• CHILD CARE AGE 4+YR IN SCHOOL (child is 4 years or older attending school)
OR
• CHILD CARE AGE 3-4 MONTHS (child is 3 through 4 months of age)
• CHILD CARE AGE 5-6 MONTHS (child is 5 through 6 months of age)
• CHILD CARE AGE 7-15 MONTHS (child is 7 through 15 months of age)
• CHILD CARE AGE 16-18 MONTHS (child is 16 through 18 months of age)
• CHILD CARE AGE 19+ MONTHS (child is 19 months or older not in school)
Do not use the series "ACIP Recommended Vaccinations" which includes all vaccines in the recommended schedule, not just those required for school and child care in WA.
You can view results directly in SCCIM or some reports can be exported to spreadsheet for further filtering and sorting. See pages 19–26 of the Training Guide: SCCIM for Schools (PDF) for full details.
Step 3: Schedule Reports for Efficiency
To schedule recurring reports:
- Click the Schedule button next to the report (if available).
- Select a date and time or use the “Run Now” checkbox.
- Choose recipients from the user list.
- Review instructions in the Guide to Scheduling Reports in the WAIIS (PDF).
Large reports are easier to manage when scheduled outside of peak hours such as overnight. This helps the system run more smoothly.
Step 4: Use the Right Follow-Up Tools
After generating reports, you can:
- Use reports to support compliance review and follow-up.
- Create reminder letters (via the Action Report-Letters) to families or providers.
- Reference letter generation steps and templates in the training guide on p. 21.
