Health Professions Online Renewal
You can now renew your health professional licenses online through the Health Enforcement and Licensing Management System (HELMS).
To access HELMS, use your Secure Access Washington (SAW) account and add the “Health Professional and Facility Licensing (HELMS)” service. This service will prompt you to create a HELMS account by matching your information to existing licensing information or create a new account for new applicants.

Please be advised that the Washington State Department of Health requires that only the applicant or licensee may complete an attestation for an application, or for continuing education. This is a legal attestation. Completion of the attestation by anyone other than the applicant may constitute a reportable felony offense. The Department of Health can take action against people for perjury or for making a false statement they know to be false.Some professions have additional online renewal requirements. Effective, March 15, 2022, the DOH Health Systems Quality Assurance customer service counter is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for submission of payments and documents. Payments and credentialing documents can also be deposited in the drop box outside of our counter location. It is checked daily.

Healthcare Professional’s Demographic Data Survey: At every renewal starting January 1, 2025, the demographic data questions are required for health care professions (except for professions regulated by the Washington Medical Commission).
