Effective January 31, 2025: DOH has new registration requirements for all dental laboratories operating in Washington state:
For New Applications (submitted on or after January 31, 2025)
- Dental laboratories must employ either:
- A Certified Dental Technician (CDT) in good standing who works at least 30 hours per week, or
- Operate under the supervision of a licensed dentist
- The application must include:
- Proof of 12 hours of continuing education, or
- A current CDT certificate
For Existing Registrations (active before January 31, 2025)
- Dental laboratories renewing registrations in 2025 must:
- Meet the requirements of RCW 70.352.050 (2)(a), or
- Provide documentation of continuous ownership and operation by the same individual since January 1, 1996
