We’re pleased to offer live, virtual Core WIC Training for new staff and experienced staff who would like a refresher on the WIC certification process. Core WIC Training compliments Certifier Competency Training and will support staff in their training and development as a CPA.
During this training, we’ll walk through the certification step by step from when an individual applies for WIC until they are offered nutrition services including a WIC card with food benefits. Staff attending this training will learn about:
- WIC eligibility, certification, and nutrition service policies.
- Prescribing foods and issuing food benefits.
- Offering participant centered nutrition services including:
- Nutrition education.
- Breastfeeding support.
- Referrals to health and social services.
- Documenting the certification and nutrition services in Cascades.

Schedule
All trainings last one week and are held daily from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
