Core WIC Training

We’re pleased to offer live, virtual Core WIC Training for new staff and experienced staff who would like a refresher on the WIC certification process. Core WIC Training compliments Certifier Competency Training and will support staff in their training and development as a CPA.

During this training, we’ll walk through the certification step by step from when an individual applies for WIC until they are offered nutrition services including a WIC card with food benefits. Staff attending this training will learn about:

  • WIC eligibility, certification, and nutrition service policies
  • Prescribing foods and issuing food benefits
  • Offering participant centered nutrition services including:
    • Nutrition education
    • Breastfeeding support
    • Referrals to health and social services
  • Documenting the certification and nutrition services in Cascades

Please see the agenda (PDF) for additional information.
