About the Webinar

The Washington Department of Health (DOH) will host a webinar on Thursday, December 5, 2024 to discuss the increase in pertussis outbreaks in Washington state. The webinar will cover pertussis clinical manifestation, treatment, vaccine recommendations, vaccination coverage, surveillance, and reporting guidelines. The webinar will be recorded and continuing education (CE) credits will be available for nurses and medical assistants. We are working to obtain CE credits for pharmacists/pharmacy techs.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe pertussis clinical manifestation, treatment, and vaccine recommendations
  • Discuss vaccination coverage in Washington State
  • Describe pertussis surveillance and reporting guidelines

Healthcare providers, local public health, health educators, and anyone interested in learning more details about current vaccine recommendations.

  • Continuing education (CE) is available for nurses and medical assistants for attending the live webinar OR watching the recording.
  • Even if you attend the live webinar or watch the recording as a group, everyone must register for the webinar and complete the evaluation as an individual prior to receiving CE.
  • More information about the process to receive CE credit will be posted after the webinar.

Continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Montana Nurses Association. MNA is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 1.0 contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of this activity.
