Opioid and Drug Use Data

For instructions on how to use our data dashboards, please see our dashboard tool page.

You are currently looking at the Opioid and Drug Use Data Dashboard. This dashboard contains data on counts and rate trends among Washington State residents.

The RHINO team has identified a discrepancy in suspected opioid overdose ED visit counts for the 0-10 age group affecting Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 data. As of 05/27/25, the dashboard has been updated with corrected ED visit counts.  Please contact the RHINO team at RHINO@doh.wa.gov for more information.

Beginning February 2025, death data will be refreshed on a monthly basis, on the second Friday of the month. Hospitalization data will be refreshed on a quarterly basis, on the fourth Friday of the quarter.

The population rates seen on the dashboard have been calculated with Small Area Demographic Estimates (SADE), replacing the previous rates which were calculated with Population Interim Estimates (PIE). Therefore, current rates may differ from previously published rates. For more information, please see our more detailed explanation or email CEPEA@doh.wa.gov.
