OLYMPIA -- The Washington State Department of Health has taken disciplinary actions or withdrawn charges against the following health care providers in our state.
The department’s Health Systems Quality Assurance Division works with boards, commissions, and advisory committees to set licensing standards for more than 80 health care professions (e.g., dentists, nurses, counselors). Information about disciplinary action taken against medical doctors and physician assistants can be found on the Washington Medical Commission (WMC) website. Questions about WMC disciplinary actions can be sent to media@wmc.wa.gov.
Information about health care providers is on the agency website. Click on “Health Care Provider Lookup” under the “Find it Fast” section of the Department of Health website (doh.wa.gov).The site includes information about a health care provider’s license status, the expiration and renewal date of their credential, disciplinary actions and copies of legal documents issued after July 1998. This information is also available by calling 360-236-4700. Consumers who think a health care provider acted unprofessionally are encouraged to call and report their complaint.
Clallam County
In March 2025 the secretary of health granted Trevor Christian Powell’s (CG61638602) agency affiliated counselor license with conditions. The license is on probation for at least two years. Powell’s health care supervisor must submit quarterly performance evaluation reports. In September 2022, Powell was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a building for drug purposes. In May 2022, Powell was charged with third-degree theft, second-degree vehicle prowling, and third-degree malicious mischief. In January 2018, Powell was charged with second-degree residential burglary and malicious mischief.
In March 2025 the secretary of health charged registered nursing assistant Maria Gconiwe Roon (NA61032435) with unprofessional conduct. Between December 2020 and March 2021, Roon allegedly worked as a registered nursing assistant with an expired license. Between December 2022 and May 2024, Roon also allegedly worked as a registered nursing assistant with an expired license.
Clark County
In January 2025 the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission terminated the probation on the pharmacy technician license of Olga V. Markin (VA00041004).
Franklin County
In March 2025 the Dental Quality Assurance Commission released Rosalinda Miranda-Tapia (D161435507) from the terms and conditions on their dental assistant license.
King County
In March 2025 the Dental Quality Assurance Commission released Jasmine Denise Betea (D160522959) from the terms and conditions on their dental assistant license.
In March 2025 the Veterinary Board of Governors released Savjit Singh Gurm (VT00008739) from the terms and conditions on their veterinarian license.
In March 2025 the secretary of health reinstated Philiph Kipkoech Lagat’s (NA60078365) license to practice as a registered nursing assistant with conditions. The license is on probation for at least two years. During this time, Lagat’s health care employer must submit quarterly performance evaluation reports.
In March 2025 the secretary of health released Lonah Njoki (NC61572652, NA60634347) from the terms and conditions on their certified nursing assistant and registered nursing assistant licenses.
Pierce County
In March 2025 the secretary of health notified Robert McCrossin of its intent to issue a cease-and-desist order for practicing as a veterinarian and veterinarian technician without holding licenses. Between September 2023 and October 2023, McCrossin administered numerous Bordetella vaccinations to animals without supervision or authorization from a veterinarian or veterinarian technician.
In March 2025 the secretary of health reinstated Tanisha Ranee Hartman’s (NC10056003) license to practice as a certified nursing assistant without conditions.
In February 2025 the secretary of health denied Kamia L. McAdory’s (HM61265445) home care aide license. In June 2024, McAdory was placed on the Department of Social and Health Services Secretary’s list as a person disqualified from caring for vulnerable adults. Between September 2023 and October 2023, McAdory claimed hours for a vulnerable adult who was residing outside of Washington state.
Snohomish County
In March 2025 the secretary of health terminated the probation on the agency affiliated counselor license of David Jie Yao (CG61220461).
Spokane County
In March 2025 the secretary of health released Brody River Decubber (PC61349369) from the terms and conditions on their medical assistant-phlebotomist license.
Thurston County
In March 2025 the secretary of health granted Mary Alisha Sprayberry’s (CO61603715) substance use disorder professional trainee license with conditions. The license is on probation for at least two years. Sprayberry’s health care supervisor must submit quarterly performance evaluation reports. In October 2023, Sprayberry was convicted of attempting to elude a pursing police vehicle, a class C felony.
In March 2025 the secretary of health charged certified nursing assistant Johnshia Juetaun Chatman (NC60315605) with unprofessional conduct. Alleged facts state that in April 2024, Chatman continued to receive payments from a patient for caregiving services after moving out of Washington state in May 2023. From January 2024 to April 2024, the patient did not receive the transportation or meal preparation services they were paying for. In January 2025, Adult Protective Services issued findings of financial exploitation and neglect of a patient by Chatman.
Out of State
Utah: In March 2025 the Dental Quality Assurance Commission terminated the probation on the dental moderate sedation permit and dentist licenses of Charles Meyer Gooss (D360475753, DE60034731).
Note to Editors: Health care providers charged with unprofessional conduct have 20 days to respond to the Department of Health in writing. The case then enters the settlement process. If no disciplinary agreement can be reached, the case will go to a hearing.
