All cases from the Medical Examiner Offices will be tested without prior approval.

Healthcare providers (HCP) and laboratories must obtain pre-approval by contacting the Local Health Jurisdiction (LHJ) of the patient's county of residence.

LHJ staff must then notify Washington State Department of Health (DOH) Office of Communicable Disease Epidemiology (CDE) 206-418-5500.

The BioFire Respiratory 2.1 (RP2.1) Panel is an FDA aproved platform.

Adenovirus typing is not performed at WA PHL. Testing will be forwarded to CDC upon request.
Positive Influenza specimens will be typed, and forwarded to CDC if applicable.

* Results for additional testing have an extended turnaround time.
