The Infectious Disease Assessment Unit conducts notifiable condition surveillance and epidemiologic support activities for HIV infection, sexually transmitted diseases, and hepatitis C. Working closely with public health staff in local health jurisdictions, the Assessment Unit collects laboratory and case reports, helps ensure data quality and completeness, and prepares and disseminates information for disease prevention and health promotion.
