Taking care of your child's teeth and gums is important. Reduce the risk of your children getting tooth decay with simple steps at home. Make sure your child or teen brushes with fluoride toothpaste, flosses and limits starch and sugary foods and drinks. Children younger than age two do not need fluoride toothpaste unless recommended by a dental or specially trained medical provider.
Teens face oral health issues that are not common in younger kids. Your teen can prevent face and mouth injuries by playing safe, wearing a helmet, using a mouth guard, and wearing a seat belt. Teens care a great deal about their appearance and self-image. Remind your teen that crooked, crowded, and stained teeth can be improved.
