How may I participate in rule making?
The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.
Current rules in progress
The Department of Health has filed a CR-102 Proposed Rulemaking with the Office of the Code Reviser. This proposal revises and clarifies rules for Applied Behavior Analysis licensure and certification. A rules hearing will take place on April 4, 2024, at 11 a.m.
Included below are the CR-102 full proposal and a significant legislative rule analysis. The CR-102 document also explains how to attend the virtual or in-person hearing and where to send written comments.
