Rules in Progress
The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.

Current rules in progress
The Board of Hearing and Speech filed on January 23, 2023, a CR-101, Preproposal for hearing and speech health equity continuing education, WSR # 23-04-022 (PDF). The board is considering amendments to WAC 246-828-510 (continuing education) and creating new sections to chapter 246-828 WAC to adopt the health equity continuing education (CE) model rules, WAC 246-12-800 through 246-12-830, and to consider whether additional CE hours and course topics should be included. Interested parties may send comments regarding the proposed rule language to Kim-Boi Shadduck, program manager, by April 14, 2023.
The Department of Health filed a CR-102 proposing to update fees for several professions (PDF).
