If you would like high-volume or frequent provider credential information, please consider using Washington’s Open Data Portal. The Open Data Portal uses the same source information as Provider Credential Search, but it also supports searching, categorizing, and downloading of data from public datasets daily. Please do not use tools to scrape or mine data from Provider Credential Search or other DOH search tools; this slows the system and can cause outages.

HELMS Release 3 Public Search Upgrades
The searches will be available during the credentialing freeze that precedes the final launch of the HELMS Project in March (March 19-24). Information from searches conducted during the freeze will not be updated until the systems come back online on the day of the launch, March 24, 2026.
The upgrades to the searches will include:
- Fewer required fields for broad searches, more options to narrow your search
- Multiple searches available on one page
- Provider details pages will include credential-specific information like endorsements and their open and closed enforcement case count.
- Educational Programs (TRNG credentials) will now be searchable.
What will not be impacted in these upgrades:
- The source data remains the same
- The public will have the same level of access
- Users searching for nursing credentials (ARNP, RN, LPN) should still refer to NURSYS as their primary tool
- Users searching for Home Care Aide (HMCC) credentials still need to use the exact match tool in accordance with RCW 42.56.640.
- Searching will still require CAPTCHA to prevent automated software from mining the data
- High-volume searching is available through the Open Data Portal and will not be impacted
The website addresses will be redirected to the updated searches; there is no need to update your saved links or bookmarks at this time.
For more information about these updates, we invite you to attend one of our HELMS R3 Open Information Sessions. Please register at the link below. Registration is required and attendance is limited to 500 people per session.
