The unprecedented pandemic challenged governments worldwide, straining systems and workforces despite robust preparedness. However, Washington's unified front—comprising state, tribal, local, nonprofit, community, and private partners—rose to the challenge with resilience. Each partner's unique expertise was leveraged in this collaborative effort, resulting in one of the lowest COVID-19 mortality rates in the U.S. Their contributions were instrumental in our success, and we deeply appreciate their efforts.
DOH also thanks all who participated in the after-action review, fostering thoughtful outcomes and actionable steps. The journey continues, with sights on bolstering response and resilience through innovation, engagement, and equity. We encourage all our partners to join us in these efforts.
