In the Executive Office of the State Health Officer (OSHO), we strive to improve the lives of Washingtonians through data collection, partnerships with local and Tribal public health organizations, epidemiology guidance, and sharing knowledgeable and accurate information to Washingtonians concerning public health.
We do this by:
- The State Health Officer (SHO) serving as the centralized communicator for public health
- Connecting Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and the Tribal and local public health systems in the areas of epidemiology and data
- Developing more collaborations with Washington’s health care system
- Leading the agency’s efforts in public health strategy
The Office of Health and Science has three areas to guide and support our efforts:
- The Center for Epidemiology Practice, Equity, and Assessment (CEPEA)
- The Center for Public Health Informatics (CPHI)
- The Center for Public Health Medical Sciences (CPHMS)
