In the Executive Office of Prevention, Safety and Health, we ensure equitable access to quality healthcare, safe and nutritious food, clean water, and clean air in green and resilient communities. This nurtures healthy, safe, active living and well-being across our lifespans.
We work every day with partners in healthcare, local and tribal public health, community-based organizations, boards, commissions, and the private sector to improve whole-person health in support of the Department of Health’s vision of equity and optimal health for all.
We do this by:
- Providing prevention-oriented programs and services that address the unequal social, structural, and environmental impacts on health.
- Making it easier to get safe patient care, preventions like vaccines and screenings, reproductive health services, and mental and behavioral health care no matter where you live or your income.
- Using data to show us where to focus programs and change policies and how we can make system and environmental changes that prevent illness, injury, and early death.
- Building on individual, family, and community strengths.
The Office of Prevention, Safety and Health has four areas to guide and support our efforts:
- Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness
- Division of Environmental Public Health
- Division of Health Systems Quality Assurance
- Division of Prevention and Community Health
