Due to the continuing challenges related to meeting the hands on CE requirement, the Board of Massage extended the hands-on CE policy's expiration date. Policy number BOM 20-01.5 (PDF) is effective through June 30, 2022. Policy number BOM 20-01.6 (PDF) takes effect July 1, 2022, and will be effective through December 31, 2022. - Rule-making activity
On March 29, 2022, the Department of Health, in conjunction with the Board of Massage, filed a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) (PDF) with the office of the Code Reviser, notifying interested parties of its intent to consider revisions to sections of the massage therapist rules, chapter 246-830 WAC, Massage Therapists. The CR-101 was filed under WSR #22-08-033.
The Board of Massage and the Department of Health adopted amendments to 13 existing sections and added a new section to chapter 246-830 WAC, Massage Therapists. The adopted amendments will become effective September 1, 2021. The CR-103 document with the adopted rule language (PDF) was filed with the Office of the Code Reviser on December 24, 2020, under WSR #21-02-012.
