Rules in Progress
The rules writing process is open to the public. The public is welcome to take part in helping us write rules. Rules are also known as regulations, Washington Administrative Code, or WAC. The rule-making process includes public notices and workshops, and usually a public hearing before a rule becomes final.

Current rules in progress
On October 24, 2017, the Department of Health filed a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) with the Office of the Code Reviser notifying the public of the department's intent to consider rulemaking to include legend drugs and devices and expired and inactive credentials. The CR-101 document was filed under WSR 17-22-034.
