The Washington Asthma Initiative (WAI) is a coalition of groups, health care providers, individuals, and government agencies from across the state.
We work to prevent asthma, and to improve its diagnosis, treatment, education, and management.
The Initiative:
- Works on policy, including the 2005 Attack on Asthma legislation.
- Helped develop both the 2005, 2011, and 2016 versions of the Washington State Asthma Plan (PDF).
Structure:
The Steering Committee is the decision making body, with standing committees focused on:
- Community awareness.
- Policy development.
- Quality of care.
Special committees are created when new issues, ideas, or projects develop.
