In the Community
The community plays an important role in supporting people with asthma by creating healthy environments. Asthma coalitions, state health departments, and community organizations help make changes by:
- Educating the public, health care providers, and politicians about asthma.
- Teaching how to diagnose and treat asthma.
- Supporting policy changes that can help reduce asthma.
Washington's Asthma Initiative
The Initiative mobilizes individuals, communities, and organizations throughout Washington State to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of asthma in order to decrease its individual and societal burdens.
