Where Can I Get WIC FMNP Checks If I'm a WIC Participant?
You can get WIC FMNP checks from participating local WIC clinics. Ask your WIC staff about Farmers Market checks.
What Do WIC FMNP Participants Get?
Participants of WIC FMNP get:
- $28.00 worth of WIC FMNP checks to use during the season. Each check is valued at $4.00 each.
- Nutrition information.
- Helpful tips about how to eat more fruits and vegetables.
- Useful information about how to prepare fruits and vegetables bought at Farmers Markets.
When Is the WIC FMNP Season?
The WIC FMNP season lasts from June 1 to October 31.
Where Can Participants Use WIC FMNP Benefits?
Participants can use WIC FMNP benefits at:
- Authorized Farmers Markets – Eastern Washington (PDF)
- Authorized Farmers Markets – Western Washington (PDF)
- Authorized Farm stores (PDF)
How Can Growers Get Authorization to Accept WIC FMNP Checks?
Growers need to apply for authorization and have a contract with the Washington State Department of Health WIC Nutrition Program to accept WIC FMNP checks. What Can Participants Buy With WIC FMNP Checks?
Participants can buy local, fresh and unprocessed fruits, vegetables and cut herbs with their WIC FMNP checks. Local means grown in Washington and in bordering counties in Idaho and Oregon.
Are There Items Participants Can't Buy Using WIC FMNP Checks?
WIC FMNP checks can't be used to buy:
- Dried or preserved fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
- Nuts and seeds.
- Baked goods.
- Eggs, seafood, meat, milk, cheese.
- Potted plants or cut flowers.
- Non-food items.
